GROETEN UIT ROTTERDAM at EUROPUNK in PARIS

January 1, 2014

Europunk exhibition at the Museum of the Cité de la Musique in Paris screens excerpts from GREETINGS FROM ROTTERDAM by Rotterdam Films (Dirk Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden) starring the RONDOS, a punkband from Rotterdam.

The Cité de la Musique in Paris has dedicated a new exhibition to the images and forms that sprung up around European punk rock starting in the mid-1970s, proposing the works as part of a legitimate art movement. Rotterdam Films contributed with a part from the film GROETEN UIT ROTTERDAM with the RONDOS, a punkband from Rotterdam.

In GREETINGS FROM ROTTERDAM the renowned artists’ collective K.K. Dubio fight against the ‘system’ from their base ‘Huize Schoonderloo’. They have a punk band called the Rondos, their own record label KingKong Records and they publish the fanzine Raket. The punk bands Tändstickorshocks, Sovjets, Rode Wig and the Rondos have united under the name Red Rock.

Europunk: An Artistic Revolution in Europe [1976-1980]” is open to visitors from October 15 through January 19, 2014 at the Cité de la Musique in Paris.
