50-year-old Victor Ganz owns a thriving civil engineering company that operates worldwide. Due to problems on a building site in North Africa he has to go there. In this country he is confronted with memories of his youth. Ganz slowly plunges into a labyrinthine world where present and past intertwine.
about the director
Bálint was born 1976 in Budapest. After studying philosophy, film history and film theory, he graduated as a film director from the Budapest Film and Theatre Academy in 2006.
His film Zárás (Closing Time) premiered during the Venice Film Festival. His previous short Before Dawn was in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005. Zárás won in 2006 the European Film Academy Prix UIP for the best European short.
His latest short History of Aviation premiered in the Director’s Fortnight 2009.
Hier / Tegnap (2018) is his first feature film.
